THE NEW SEASON: Accessories

Even though Summer looks like it’s here to stay (for now) AW/13 is upon us, which means time for a wardrobe shake-up! If you’ve not spent hours doing your new season homework, let me save you some time and give you your new accessory essentials…

1. The Statement Necklace

Image

Zara is the queen of statement jewellery this autumn, have a look of you don’t believe me! This one is my pick of the lot, I saw it in Look Magazine this week too and fell in love with it. Treat it as your trusty outfit changer when you’re bored of the same old LBD or white tee and jeans. Zara, £29.99.

This is another fave, but more as an “under the collar” piece. It’s toned down bling makes it easily wearable for casual or glam, under a shirt or over a high neck dress. It’s gunmetal, silver and gold tones make it versatile with any other jewellery too. Topshop, £22.50.

This is my cheap and cheerful option. Trusty Black and Gold and it is SO light it doesn’t even feel like you’re wearing it. Perfect on-trend geometric shapes, available in Cream and Gold too. River Island, £12.

2. Ponyskin Luggage

Ted Baker have gone all YSL with their new season “T” Clutch, £99. Ponyskin is going to be massive in Autumn and this fits the bill, in Hot Pink or sophisticated Black.

I love this print, and the good news is it comes in a phone case, tablet case and a make up bag too! This pretty little collection is from Oasis. Coin Purse, £12.

3. Bright Belts

Change up a jumpsuit or waisted dress with the ultimate outift accessory, like this metallic detail belt. Orange is the it colour of the Autumn, and it’s easy to work into prints and plain colours. Oasis, £9.

This Week I’m Loving…

1) OMG. Agyness Deyn for Dr Martens… The range is AMAZING. This t-shirt is my fave, it’s just plain geeky, suggestive, sexy and trendy all at the same time. The collection is timeless and versatile, definitely worth a look. Get it here.

2) Barely there sandals… in flat mode. Because nobody, I mean nobody walks around in heels all day everyday. Even Kim Kardashian has come to realise this! These are a great buy from Next, £32.

3) Geometric Longline Bikini, New Look, Top £14.99, Bottoms £7.99. I’m all for the longline bikini top this summer, especially if you have that little roll of fat just under the bust like moi.

4) What is it about the serious lack of nice beach bags this summer? This one was like finding a needle in quite literally, a haystack of woven generic beach bags. I love the clutch too. Both River Island, Tote £25, Clutch £28.

Georgia Hardinge For River Island

Image

Ellie Goulding is the first of many to be snapped in the new range from Georgia Hardinge, for River Island, in Sundays Fabulous Magazine. Set to be launched on 3rd April, the collection will feature the signature Georgia Hardinge print, made affordable on the High St, with prices ranging £30-£150. I predict it’s going to be massive!
